Infrastructure and testbeds

We have developed demonstrators and proof-of-concepts (PoC) for many of our research works, especially for mobile networks (4G/5G/6G), multi-connectivity (5G and Wi-Fi 6) and LoRaWAN.
As an example, the picture below shows one of our demonstrators for multi-connectivity. This testbed, which includes a 5G system and a Wi-Fi 6 network, allows us to make experiments with a CPE simultaneously connected to both technologies, achieving end-user throughput around 2 Gbps.

Our colleague Pablo Rodriguez delivered a presentation at The European Researchers' Night, showcasing the innovative iPerrobot: Intelligent Telecommunications workshop at the CITIC-UGR stand. During his talk, he explained how his quadruped robot prototype, iPerroBot, is designed for rescue missions in hazardous environments, using telecommunications technology and AI to transmit live video, receive commands, and share data from hard-to-reach areas. This development highlights how engineering and AI can help save lives without putting more people at risk.
